The Childcare Offer for NPT

The Childcare Offer for Wales provides 30 hours a week of government-funded early education and childcare for eligible working parents of 3 to 4 year olds, for up to 48 weeks  of the year.

From September 2018, families in Neath Port Talbot will be among those in Wales able to claim 30 hours of Government funded early education and childcare for up to 48 weeks of the year as part of the new Childcare Offer for Wales.

The offer will be made available on a phased approach with the delivery proposed in the following electoral wards: Tai-Bach, Resolven, Baglan, Aberavon, Pontardawe, Blaengwrach, Onllwyn, Bryncoch South, Glyncorrwg, Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen, Cymer and Lower Brynamman

How will I know if I’m eligible?

All parents of 3 and 4 year olds can access the Foundation Phase early education entitlement. You are eligible to receive the additional childcare if:

  • you live within a pilot area,
  • have a child within the age range and
  • earn on average a weekly minimum equivalent to, or more than, 16 hours at national minimum wage (NMW) or national living wage (NLW) but less than £100,000 per year.

Further information about eligibility and how to apply for the scheme will be made available to parents in July. Childcare providers interested in delivering the offer can contact The Childcare Offer Team for more information by emailing childcareoffer@npt.gov.uk
